Monday, 5 September - Santa Fe, NM

Today was a much slower day for us.  Took off mid-morning after having to sort out a few things with our future travel plans.  Arrived at New Mexico's largest shopping mall so that David could check Sears and I wandered into Dillards.  Not very busy at 10.30am on a Monday public holiday.  By the time we left at 11.30 there were more cars....

Noticed a brew pub across the road and decided to check it out.  'Blue Corn Cafe' serves really great, fresh authentic Mexican fare - along with locally brewed beer.  The staff were mighty friendly and again, the Australian accent was noticed.

Spent the afternoon picking up some food supplies from Walmart and then driving back into the centre of town because it was the last afternoon of the Arts and Craft Festival.  It was just too busy and we couldn't find anywhere to park our car - so we opted for a retreat back to our accommodation. Really enjoying the feel of Santa Fe, and the people are certainly very welcoming!


Don't think this sign was to go with the red chillies on display - but they are everywhere and people are buying them to make chilli, which is then preserved as salsa sauce.  A little too hot for me!
