Went to the Plaza Café for brekky. We were served by Jordon, a very nice young
Hispanic man, who happily engaged with us in both Spanish and English. Next, we walked to the Visitor Information
Center and looked for some ideas of things to do – and decided to go to the
Purple Adobe Lavender Farm. It was about
an hours’ drive from Santa Fe, out past the town of Espanola. It was a clear day after the rain of
yesterday afternoon.

Along the way we stopped at a Farmers’
Market where a gentleman had two mustangs he wanted someone to adopt. Too big for my suitcase, I said!
The lavender farm was off the beaten track
so to speak, we had to look for a private road between mile markers 210 and
211. David said he felt like he was back
in Charleville, navigating his way around!
Everything at the farm was purple! It was very tidy. A gentleman met us and as it was almost 2pm,
he suggested we might want to have a cuppa at the tea house before walking
around the farm – looking at the meditation mandala in the middle of his field
(!), the rows of lavender plants and checking out the gift shop, as he didn’t
close the gift shop until 5pm. It was a
nice visit, not something I would need to do again but we enjoyed our look
around the countryside.
